Women’s Needs Assessment Initiative PDF Print E-mail

As part of its ongoing efforts to understand and meet the various needs of our communities across the world, The World Federation of KSIMC has launched a ‘Women’s Needs Assessment’.

The purpose of this new initiative is to carry out a worldwide evaluation on the diverse needs of women in our communities and centres across the world so that The World Federation of KSIMC and its Regional Federations can support our women with programmes and services which are fitting, essential and in harmony with their present day needs.

Saeeda Jiwa, an Executive Councillor of The World Federation of KSIMC for the term 2009-2012 has been appointed by the Office Bearers as the ‘Women’s Needs Assessment Coordinator’ and will be leading this initiative.  She will be working with a number of individuals representing the different Regional Federations to develop an infrastructure for assessment and eventually implement the studies as well as programmes for women.

Areas that will be assessed include spiritual, educational, and medical needs among others.

Saeeda Jiwa said, ‘I am excited and optimistic about this project. It is my hope that with the support from all the regions, jointly we will be able to achieve this aim.  This assessment process is aimed to unlock the potential of service providers in reaching out to individual region's identified needs within this particular demographic and tailor the services to meet the needs of our women worldwide. We pray to Allah (SWT) to guide us to serve in his way. Ameen.’
